March 26’ Newsletter
Welcome to the March 2026 Newsletter from Snake River Strings Co., Idaho’s Best Music Lessons three years running!
Spring is almost here, and we have so many exciting things happening across our locations! From celebrating our Student of the Month to Celtic tunes, upcoming St. Patrick’s Day Jams, our spring break closure dates, and Practice Challenge milestones, here’s what’s going on at Snake River Strings Co.
🌟 Student of the Month: Kyler Duarte (Blackfoot)
We’re excited to spotlight one of our amazing 13-year-old students at our Blackfoot location!
An Idaho native born in Nampa, Kyler is a curious and motivated learner who loves exploring new ideas and challenging himself. Outside of lessons, he enjoys playing piano, drawing, birdwatching, collecting Star Wars Legos, building his movie collection, and hiking.
When asked what he likes most about lessons, he shared:
“What I like best about lessons with Porter is his patience and how he explains things so well. I admire how well rounded he is in his knowledge of music.”
We are so proud of his growth and dedication. Way to go, Kyler!
2026 printable operations calendar 📅
We wanted to share our 2026 Printable Operational Calendar with you!
This calendar outlines important dates such as studio closures, holidays, and special events throughout the year.
Having these dates in advance helps families plan ahead.
(If a lesson falls on a scheduled closure, you are not billed for that lesson.)
📅 Spring break closure reminder
All Snake River Strings Co. locations and offices will be closed March 22–March 28 for Spring Break. Lessons will resume the following week. If you have any questions, check your student portal on OPUS!
🎯 Practice Challenge Update – Halfway There!
Students across all locations are starting to hit the halfway point in our 100-Day Practice Challenge — and the consistency is showing!
Every day of practice counts and moves your location closer to a pizza party. We calculate results by averaging the number of practice days per student at each location.
Current standings:
🥇 1st Place – Blackfoot (17.3)
🥈 2nd Place – Ammon (13.5)
🥉 3rd Place – Pocatello (13.09)
4th Place – Rexburg (9.2)
Keep showing up — those results are adding up!
(Practice Challenge winners are determined by average practice per student at each location, not just squares that are filled out at your location!)
If you’d like to take this challenge to the next step, then join us on this fun FREE practice app, called Tonic Music! It’s so fun, as is a way to gameify the experience.
Join our private group by clicking on this link below. And below that is a youtube tutorial I made to help explain it a bit more if you need it :)

☘️ Celtic Tunes & St. Patrick’s Day Jams
Let’s add some Irish flair to your lessons this month!
Celtic jigs and reels are a fun way to build speed, rhythm, and musicality. Ask your teacher about adding a St. Patrick’s Day tune to your repertoire.
Be watching your texts for details about our St. Patrick’s Day jam sessions happening at each location!
